The latest figures from the governing body Ofgem have shown that biomass currently accounts for 160 out of the 168 projects approved under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

The RHI was launched last year to provide financial support for those looking to take on renewable heating systems as their main source of energy production. It is currently only open for non-domestic users, with the domestic phase of the scheme due for launch in late 2012.

On 30th July Ofgem released their latest round of RHI figures, which show that biomass currently makes up 93.39% of installations and an astonishing 99.39% of all installed capacity. What's even more interesting is that the total payments made to date are just £520,946. With up to £70m budgeted for this financial year, this means that there is a significant amount of money still available for those looking to take up renewable heating and the subsequent RHI payments.

There are several companies available in the industry who will assist with the RHI application and provide support whilst you make the transition into renewable heating technologies.
